ROCK WOOL

ROCK WOOL is a fibrous material formed by spinning or drawing molten mineral or rock materials such as slag and ceramics. Rock wool is a type of elevated highstrenth wool created for use as high-temperature insulation and generally defined as being resistant to temperatures above 850 °C. This type of insulation is usually used in industrial furnaces and foundries. Because high-temperature mineral wool is costly to produce and has limited availability, it is almost exclusively used in high-temperature industrial applications and processes

APPLICATIONS

  • Thermal insulations.
  • Sound proofing
  • Conduct heat
  • Fireproofing.
  • Resin bonded panels.
  • Filler in compounds for gaskets.
  • Brake pads.
  • Automotive industry

    SHELF LIFE

Material can be stored for about 5 year in recommended conditions.
If product is torn or loose, reseal and minimize fiber release. Personnel directly involved in clean up should wear protective equipment as described in section 8 to prevent skin and eye irritation.
Rockwool, also known as stone wool, is primarily composed of basalt rock (a type of volcanic rock) and, in some cases, blast furnace slag. These materials are melted at extremely high temperatures and then spun into fibers, which are then bonded together to create the insulation material.
